Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Paul Greengrass, the film will be released across India by PVR INOX Pictures, the company said in a statement.

'The Uprising' follows a humble farmer, played by Garfield, who is thrust into the heart of a rebellion after witnessing the injustices inflicted upon his people. As he rises to lead the revolt against tyranny, he becomes an unlikely symbol of hope for those around him.

The film explores themes of courage, sacrifice, resilience, justice and unity, while focusing on ordinary people who come together to challenge oppression and change the course of history. Garfield is joined by an ensemble cast featuring Jamie Bell, Thomasin McKenzie, Katherine Waterston, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, Jonny Lee Miller and Woody Norman.
