Multiple ultra-light manned aircraft took off from a stretch of farmland in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, flying at a low altitude of five meters and a top speed of 36 kilometers per hour. They performed in formation or staggered displays.
Upon closer observation, the aircraft features a pilot standing on a platform rather than sitting, controlling the flight with just both hands on the joystick. Its base is a flower-shaped platform about 3.5 meters in diameter, with four "petals" housing four propeller fans inside. This is the urban standing-position manned aircraft launched on Thursday by Coolfly (Zhejiang) Aircraft Technology Co., Ltd.
Regarding safety, the brand marketing director stated, "All our new products are equipped with a dual-redundancy flight control system. In simple terms, the aircraft has two 'brains' that operate simultaneously during flight. If a danger occurs, they can react within milliseconds and compensate for each other."
He also specifically mentioned that multiple safety devices are built into the airframe, including an airbag under the base and a aircraft parachute behind the seat.
