The first phase of the Bozhong 19-6 gas field, China's first 100-billion-cubic-meter gas field in the Bohai Sea, has entered full operation, with daily oil and gas output surpassing 5,200 tonnes, the Tianjin branch of China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) announced on Sunday.
As the largest offshore gas field in eastern China, the Bozhong 19-6 field is of great significance for optimizing regional energy structures and driving high-quality economic and social development, CNOOC stated.
According to the company, the field will play a vital role in meeting the growing energy demands of local residents and industrial production.
Located in the central waters of the Bohai Sea, the Bozhong 19-6 gas field boasts proven geological natural gas reserves of more than 200 billion cubic meters, alongside proven geological liquid petroleum reserves exceeding 200 million tons.
