India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement strongly condemning the Iranian strikes on two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz that resulted in the killing of an Indian seafarer.
The ministry further stated that of the 10 sailors injured, two were in critical condition.
The Iranian attack happened after the US launched strikes on Iran early Tuesday morning. The US airstrikes happened hours after President Donald Trump said Washington is "reinstating" a blockade on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
The back-and -forth attacks started after Iran attacked a commercial ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz and US launched strikes on Iranian assets in retaliation.

Bahrain, home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet, sounded its missile alert sirens three times early Tuesday. Jordan's military said it intercepted four missiles from Iran. Jordan hosts US forces and has come under attack by Tehran in recent days.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency warned airlines against operating in the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as over the Gulf of Oman.
It said in a bulletin that “unpredictable military developments, combined with the possible use of missiles, drones, combat aircraft and air-defense systems, create a high risk to civil flights.”

MEA issues statement condemning Hormuz attack
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement strongly condemning the Iranian strikes on two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz that resulted in the killing of an Indian seafarer.
"Both the vessels were carrying 30 Indian seafarers, among their combined crew of 46. Of the 12 Indian nationals onboard MT Al Bahiyah, one has tragically lost his life and another has been injured. Of the 18 Indian nationals onboard MT Mombasa, 9 have sustained injuries, including 2 who are reported to be seriously injured", the statement read.

India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has summoned Iran's Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Iran over the killing of an Indian crew member as a result of Iran attacking a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. A strong protest against these attacks was lodged with the Deputy chief.
India said it is "deeply concerned" by the attacks on two vessels, MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa, during their transit through the strait.

Crude oil prices rise as tensions escalate
Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, was trading higher by 2.02 per cent at $84.98 per barrel in futures trade amid concerns over disruptions to supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
This is still well below the nearly $120 crude oil price level that was reached at the height of the war.

US to levy toll for safe transit through Hormuz: Trump
US President Donald Trump stated that his administration will charge tolls for ships going through the strait, after previously suggesting that it wouldn't.
The president said the US would be "reimbursed" by 20 per cent of the value of cargo to help cover "any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security".
"We're protecting a very rich portion of the world," he said. "We're spending money. And so, what we've done is, we are going to be reimbursed for protection."
It's a change in US policy that, until now, said the strait should remain open to all without tolls — as it was before the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28.

One Indian crew member killed in Iranian attacks on UAE tanker in Strait of Hormuz
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Defence Ministry stated that Iran attacked two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one Indian national.
The Emirati Defence Ministry said Iran launched two cruise missiles at the tankers Mombasa and Al Bahiyah.
The attacks set both tankers ablaze, though the fires were extinguished.
"The UAE reserves its full right to respond to this escalation and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory, its citizens and residents," the Defence Ministry added.

US military begins another round of strikes on Iran: CENTCOM
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on social media that the US military had begun another round of strikes against Iran.
"These strikes will continue imposing a heavy cost on Iranian forces and degrade their ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz," the US military said.
This image from video released by U.S. Central Command, shows an explosion at Bandar Abbas Naval Base, Iran, as three Corsair unmanned surface vessels fired by the U.S. military, hit the port. Moments after the military announced the new strikes, Trump called it "another major attack".
"We're hitting them very hard. And it'll continue, and we'll see what happens," he told reporters in the Oval Office. "We're knocking out all of their offensive capability and we're controlling the straits. We're putting the blockade back."
