Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will arrive in India on Wednesday as part of her three day visit to India from July 1 to 3.
This will be Takaichi's first official visit to India. The prime minister will hold a Japan-India Summit meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The visit is aimed at strengthening relations between the two nations, which is of utmost importance for the realization of a 'Free and Open Indo-Pacific', the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said in a statement on the same.
The two leaders will discuss the further strengthening of mutually complementary cooperation under varied sectors like economic security, energy and economic growth through investment and innovation.
The talking points had been set as part of the Japan-India Joint Vision for the Next Decade announced at Modi's visit to Japan last August, the statement added on.
