New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday welcomed the peace deal negotitated between US and Iran to end the war in West Asia.
"India hopes that the implementation of this understanding will help restore peace and stability in the region and ensure the freedom of navigation and commerce'', Modi wrote on X.
The Prime Minister also stated that India looks forward to deliberations on the remaining issues to reach a sustainable final agreement.

The announcement regarding the finalisation of a peace deal was made by US president Donald Trump via Truth Social on Sunday. The signing of the deal is scheduled to be held on Friday in Switzerland.
The US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28 that saw Tehran lose several of its top leadership, including the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamemei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Mohammad Pakpour among others.
The deal brings an end to the war that rattled global markets as well, clutching the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the global oil trade transits, in a chokehold.
