Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled a new poster of his upcoming film ‘King’, days before his 61st birthday, giving fans another glimpse of his intense look in the action film.

The poster features Khan wielding a gun as he walks out of a tunnel surrounded by towering flames. Wearing an unbuttoned dark shirt that reveals a bloodied chest, the actor appears in a gritty, vengeance-driven avatar.

However, it was the caption accompanying the poster that drew attention on social media.

“Aaj phir yaad aaya…Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…#KING,” Shah Rukh wrote.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘King’ is scheduled to release in theatres on 24 December 2026, positioning it as a major Christmas release. The film marks Khan's reunion with Anand after their 2023 collaboration on ‘Pathaan’.

Recently, Shah Rukh held an interactive session on X, responding to fan questions about the film's post-production, visual effects and music.

The actor said he had been working late nights and closely following the visual effects work to ensure the film meets expectations.

“Troubling RC VFX a lot. Sitting on Harry and Keiten's head to deliver the best. I think they might ban me from coming to the office late nights soon,” he joked about his involvement in the process.

Khan also praised Anand's commitment to the project, saying the director was working hard to deliver a film that audiences could enjoy.

“Sid toh bechara laga hua hai. Late bhai hain… taking time to put our best foot forward so u all enjoy it and feel proud and happy with #King,” he said.

Responding to a question about the film's music, Shah Rukh said singer Arijit Singh was putting the finishing touches on the soundtrack.

“Kar deta Abhi, Arijit dada ko finishing touches dene hain. He is a perfectionist; it takes some time, rightfully,” he said.

The actor also addressed a question about ‘King’ competing with other films during the busy December release season. Dismissing concerns about the film being caught between competing releases, he quipped: “Not at all… Baaki bread pieces ka bhi toh socho… hum toh center ki tasty Tikki hain.”

‘King’ also stars Shah Rukh's daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone. According to reports, actors Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan are also expected to make special appearances.
