London: The British police said on Tuesday that they have rearrested two men on suspicion of assisting Iran's intelligence service over the suspected plot at the RAF Fairford base hosting US troops last month.

Counter Terrorism Policing said the men, a 24-year-old British national and a 25-year-old dual UK-Iranian national, were arrested under the National Security Act.

The men were earlier arrested but bailed pending more investigation.

The re-arrest is the latest in an investigation that has drawn international attention after US President Donald Trump said a threat linked to Iran had subsequently prompted the removal of American B-1 bombers from the base. Iran has denied any involvement in any alleged plot.

The police have been investigating a suspected terror plot on September 27 against the base at RAF Fairford in western England, which has been used to bomb Iran during this year's war.
