New Delhi: Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company Moonshot AI has unveiled Kimi K3.1 Pro, a 3-trillion-parameter open-weight model with a 1-million-token context window, alongside a faster version called Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed. The company plans to release the model's full weights by November 4.
According to a company statement, both versions are available through Kimi.ai, Kimi Work, Kimi Code and the Kimi API.
“We're introducing Kimi K3.1 Pro, the first model in our new K3.1 series and our most capable 3T-class open-weight model to date, with a 1-million-token context window. It delivers substantial improvements across coding, 3D creation, financial research, and other agentic capabilities,” the company said.
Moonshot AI described Kimi K3.1 Pro as an upgraded version of Kimi K3, developed with significantly greater computing resources during post-training.
The company said the model supports a broad range of coding tasks, from quick fixes in existing codebases to building complete projects. It also claimed the model can deliver end-to-end financial workflows.
Moonshot AI said it had optimised its reinforcement learning framework, long-context processing, training efficiency and infrastructure to improve performance across hundreds of application areas, including coding, autonomous AI tasks and knowledge-based operations.

Kimi K3.1 Pro benchmark performance
According to Moonshot AI, Kimi K3.1 Pro delivers performance comparable to leading proprietary AI models across several benchmarks.
On Terminal-Bench 4.0, which evaluates AI coding agents on real-world terminal-based tasks, the model scored 65.7 per cent, surpassing GPT-6 Astra's 58.2 per cent and approaching Claude Opus 5.5's 66.4 per cent.
On its internal Kimi Code Bench 3.0 Long-horizon benchmark, which assesses multi-step execution, tool use and end-to-end problem-solving across engineering domains, K3.1 Pro scored 61.2 per cent, compared with 55.95 per cent for K3.
The company also introduced Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed, which it said delivers two to three times the speed of the standard K3.1 Pro model for more responsive interactions.
Moonshot AI said Kimi K3.1 Pro is available across its platforms, including Kimi.ai, its mobile apps, Kimi Work and Kimi Code, as well as through the Kimi API. The company plans to release the full model weights by November 4.
